APD in itself is a university of sorts to interning students of affiliated colleges. It provides a hands-on approach that orients students to not only the needs of people with disabilities but also in understanding perspectives. The perceptions formed during internship opportunities are given shape by the students as they are absorbed in various occupational work places. This helps to direct initiatives for people with disabilities for their empowerment and mainstreaming.
