Balaji, the son of Manju and Raju, started experiencing difficulty in his movements after a fever in his sixth month. Treatment by different doctors were not too useful. A meeting with Hemanth, a student of APD’s Shraddhanjali Integrated School, proved to be the beginning of a change in Balaji’s life.

The anxiety of Balaji’s parents at the future of their son is now giving way to joy as they are witnessing the gradual improvement in his condition, subsequent to physiotherapy at APD.

This is what Balaji’s parents, Manju and Raju have to say about their son and APD.

“Now our son is walking, talking and jumping. He even asks the school bus driver to give him a chance to drive the bus ! His memory has improved and his body language is becoming more regulated and defined as the days pass.

That all this transformation is happening in front of my eyes is an unforgettable moment for us. There has been a change in the attitude of the neighbours as well. The earlier dislike and neglect is giving way to expressions of appreciation.

The staff at APD is very good and they work hard to bring about a positive change in the life of the children with disability and in their families. We wish to continue this association with APD by getting our child admission into their Community learning center at Chamarajpete, Bangalore.

Our dream is that our son should be well-educated and help others like him”
