APD has learnt valuable lessons in its evolution beginning as it did from scratch to reaching where it is today. In the process, it has created assets of learning whose benefits can be shared by start start up Community Based Organizations and Non-Government Organizations and those wanting to expand area of operations.

APD’s capacity building programmes for CBOs and NGOs prepare them to work effectively with people with disabilities in different age groups, especially women, in rural and semi-urban areas. It gears them to work holistically. Thus they are able to:

• mobilize children and people with disabilities,
• enhance their capacities for providing them care and support,
• improve administrative and managerial functions
• identify ways to access appropriate aids, and
• advocacy
• mobilizing finances for long-term sustainability.
