Association for People with Disabilities strives to change deeply entrenched perceptions and attitudes both within people with disabilities and those around them through sustained interventions, extensive networking and linkages.

As a result, the family, individuals, institutions, communities, and the industry become key change agents in the integration of people with disabilities into the socio-economic arena of the country.

A. Education

Shradhanjali Integrated School offers schooling for children from nursery to Class VII. Children from communities in urban and rural are also included in the educational programme.

B. Therapeutic counseling, services and provision of mobility aids

The physiotheraphy, spinal cord and orthotic units offer specialized counseling and therapy services and mobility aids.

C. Vocational skills training and support in placement of people with disabilities, with special focus on women and people with spinal cord injuries

Youth and adults are trained by professionals in relevant IT softwares and industrially relevant skills. Women, especially those from rural areas, are provided training in industrial sewing and embroidery. They are also given residential support.

D. Networking and advocacy

We conduct regular programmes and conduct regular workshops through linkages with Self-help groups or Disabled People Organizations at the district level, various federations, Lok Adalats (People’s Justice Forums), and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan,

These strategic interventions, implemented through various programmes, instill confidence and increase the self-esteem of people living with disability.
