The efforts put in by corporates and professionals have contributed to the realization of APD’s goals and objectives in a significant manner. Collaborations have enhanced capacities in different programme areas or improved infrastructure.
Corporates regularly organize short term training and development courses in areas that gives confidence to people with disabilities in their endeavor to mainstream. For example, courses to improve communication skills, and pre-employment classes to prepare for interviews.
Fund-raising campaigns by corporates and their support in network activities have strengthened APD’s interventions in rural areas and in slum communities. For example, establishing linkages with medical care institutions or schools, colleges etc have strengthened APD’s institutional mechanisms.
