Zurich Community Trust

Zurich Community Trust, the charitable arm of Zurich Financial Services has partnered with APD almost since its formation. The areas of support to APD are:

• Funding
• Capacity building, including virtual volunteering
• Networking support with other partners of Zurich Community Trust

If there is a will, there is a way.

This is what a simple, innovative and logistics friendly association between APD and volunteers are proving since 2005 in their weekly interactions. Geographical boundaries are no bar for volunteers of ZFS to help the students in the IT training course of APD to improve their written communication skills.

In this program, each student is linked to one volunteer from ZFS. The student communicates with the volunteer over emails. The volunteer sends a topic for the student to write on and indicates corrections on receiving the write-up.

Not only has it helped students to improve their written English skills, but also made them familiar with computer operations and accessing Internet.
