Name:
Gavin Richard Paul
Age:
11
Nature of disability:
Cerebral Palsy with diplegia

Richard is affected in both his lower limbs with severe muscle tone stiffness and tightness in both hip and knee. He was almost immobile and could either crawl or stand with support. He had poor balance and found it difficult to walk.

After receiving rehabilitation care and surgery, Richard started walking independently with the help of a simple orthosis and rollator, and manages to do his functional day-to-day activities. He communicates well, has gained self confidence and continues his education.

Presently, he is in Class 2 at Shradhanjali Integrated School. APD is providing Richard with intensive physiotherapy, trampoline therapy, and training for activities of daily living (ADLs). He is being encouraged to reach his highest potential so he can be independent.
